Our next Rialto Recommends returns us to the world of Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the lovable Peanuts gang with their second big screen outing 1972's SNOOPY COME HOME! When Snoopy receives a letter from a girl named Lila, who's in a hospital, he goes on a journey with Woodstock to see her. The New York Times gushed "After seeing SNOOPY COME HOME the second animated movie feature derived from the Charles M. Schulz comic strip, "Peanuts," all we can say is, Snoopy for President and Woodstock for Veep! Let's start a campaign here and now. This sprightly, clever and hilarious treat—all that a comic strip should be on the screen—is even better than "A Boy Named Charlie Brown," which began the series." (It's worth remembering 72 was an election year.) SNOOPY COME HOME is streaming on Hulu or available to rent for a modest fee from Amazon, Vudu, DirectTV, FlixFling and others. We could all use a little Snoopy now and then.
