Our next Rialto Recommends premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. An audacious act of filmmaking, ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW was shot surreptitiously in black and white without permission at Disneyland. In a world of fake castles and anthropomorphic rodents, an epic battle begins when an unemployed father's sanity is challenged by a chance encounter with two underage girls on holiday. Variety called it "A sneakily subversive exercise in low-budget surrealism and anti-corporate satire." While Indiewire proclaimed "A labyrinthine descent into the grotesque extremes of a Disneyfied society, "Escape From Tomorrow" is surreal for many reasons and wholly original because of them." The movie isn't for everyone and critics were divided about its merit. Decide for yourself. ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW is available to rent for a modest fee from Amazon, Apple, Vudu and Microsoft HERE.
