Ready, Set, Bag! is an award-winning documentary by local filmmakers that stars state champions from across the U.S. working to win the National Grocers Association's Best Bagger Contest. Using the competition as a backdrop, the film delves into the lives of eight diverse individuals and tells distinctly American stories celebrating this country's values.
No matter where we are in life or what we do for a living - we all shop at the grocery store. And the checker or bagger is often the last personal contact we have with an employee. It is here at the end of the checkout aisle that READY, SET, BAG! shows the pride and effort these individuals put into their job to be the best at what they do - capturing the spirit of working class Americans. These characters prove that speed, accuracy and heart will determine who is best qualified to ask you, "Paper or plastic?"
Ready, Set, Bag! premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and played in Austin, Sedona, Wisconsin, and Heartland Film Festivals (as Paper or Plastic?)
Directors Justine Jacob and Alex D. da Silva and special guests from the film will do a Q & A after the film.
